Becoming a Registered user (which is FREE of course) at freeflick.net grants you probably one of the best features of this site. Subscriptions!
Rather than spending all your free time wading through screenings, looking for new ones... you simply subscribe to your Zip Code and Range. Now once every day/week you'll receive an update email outlining all the latest screenings that have been added.
Of course registering also affords you the right to post on the forums, add new screenings, pass out reputation (which will eventually aid you in winning prizes!) and post your pre-launch reviews of movies you get to see before anyone else!
I encourage you to register and become apart of our growing community! Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you around the site!

Oh sweet sweet Narnia... why must you be made by Disney? In their sophomore release of the Narnia franchise, Andrew Adamson and Disney continued to make the same mistakes, in my opinion anyway, as they did in the first run. Note, when making a movie with a huge budget to squander in cgi driven battle scenes, actually show the battle. The movie is jam packed with battle sequences in which you get to see up to the swords clash, then the camera twitches and you get some off screen, soft-core gasp of some red shirt assumable getting slain. Obviously, being that I'm a 20-something male with no children, I always expect Lord of the Ring style slashings... my acceptance level doesn't seem to drop when movies are made considering children and their imaginative minds... Especially when the movie was made from stories of my childhood book reading. I'm reminded of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean, and don't remember the high seas action flick yielding from appeasing the adult's thirst for bloodshed, so what makes this different? Maybe its the hope for a church draw due to the CS.Lewis "religious undertones." I'm not certain.
None-the-less... The movie doesn't sit well with me. Poor choices of where to spend cgi monies (i.m.o.) and a return of 4 child actors (5 if you include Caspian) that neither inspire or seemingly know how to act... all resulted in an enjoyable movie going experience. Not resting on the shoulders of the movie mind you, but rather the pre-movie Turkish delight the Alamo Drafthouse was passing out, and the mid-movie pizza and beer delivered to my seat. Score, theatre 1, movie 0.

PS: If you enjoyed the first Narnia movie, you'll likely enjoy this. If not, you may want to drop the kids/wife/girlfriend off, and sneak into the Iron Man showing next door:)

More or less for flare, we've included a google map on the home page to represent the entire scope of the current screenings listed on the site. There's likely still some work that can be done, but we're looking for some feedback, good or bad, on the little gadget. Enjoy!

I thought I would start a thread to discuss new and upcoming movies. This was all inspired by the december release of Twilight, based on the book by Stephenie Meyer. I am sooo excited about the film and hope it somewhat resembles the amazing love story she has created.

This issue only appears in Firefox browser (that I can tell). When viewing trailers, you should be able to click "list" and choose a different trailer to watch. There doesn't seem to be any choices in Firefox (confirmed working in IE).
I'm working on the issue, and Rep+ goes to DeeTaylor for informing me:) Long live the ability to choose your trailers!

Fanboys don't hate! I'm witholding the 5 Star rating for reasons I believe are solid and will explain in greater detail soon.
I totally slacked and didn't look into free screenings (of which there were plenty) to see Ironman, but I'm kinda glad I did. With my full price ticket in-hand I was waiting in a pretty packed line to see an oversold Friday Night DLP showing I was pretty stoked. The movie rocked, and even my friend that typically despises animated and fantasy movies was pretty blown away. The only reason I just can't give it a 5 star rating (to share the lineup with Forest Gump, Matrix, etc) is for silly little things throughout the movie that just seemed off. I understand that it's a comic book movie and as in any movie, the director (Jon Favreau in this case) asked you to "just accept it" a certain amount... but a few things were just silly. Like the flagship museum type building for the super duper power source by day... transforming into the baddie's evil doing lair, decked with pointless chains and such by night was a bit... silly. Again, nothing to ruin or even seriously taint the movie, but still kills the possibility of 5/5 imo.
All in all, a great movie... If your interest is peaked at all by the trailer... I'd say it's worth dropping some green to see it.

After several dragging weeks of design and tweaking, I believe we have a product to present! Surely there are lots of improvements that, with your help, can be ironed out quickly. We're much more interested in getting people connected to great free screenings than sitting on the site until it's 100% ready:) Lucky you!
With the numerous blockbusters about to hit the big screen, you're sure to catch us ranting and raving about each one, as we get opportunities to see them, in our review section! Feel free to contribute there as well!
Mainly, let us know of any improvements that could be made (as we likely overlooked several) and we'll be prompt in thanking you and implementing any needed/desired changes! Thanks again for your time, and I hope to see you around the site!

It is required on this board to hide any detail about a movie that could be considered knowledge to progress the story from the point the lights in the theatre dim to show the feature. Basically, no one wants to have a movie ruined by comments like "he dies at the end". So if you feel it critical to discuss relevant portions of the movie in a post, please wrap the text in the spoiler tag. kthxbye:)

Examples:
[ spoiler ]This is spoil text[ /spoiler ]
This is spoil text

[ spoiler=This is spoil title ]This is spoil text[ /spoiler ]

(show) This is spoil title

As you may have already noticed, we've implemented a new feature that allows people to award reputation to any other member every 12 hours. This is to be used to reflect the impact a member has on the site. You can earn reputation by posting on the forum (1rep/10 posts), posting a free screening (1rep/screening) or writing a review (1rep/review post).
In the near future, we'll use your reputation to award prizes! More on that soon!

Disclaimer:
Gaming/Exploiting the system may result in removal of your reputation points and up to banning from the site. So enjoy the friendly competition, but don't abuse it:)

Fellow Freeflickians,
I bid you a sweet hello! After many moons of sitting on the idea that this site should exist, I am finally following the bright shining star in the sky. Soon, we will be firing on all cylinders. My hope is that people will be drawn to this site and help each other out as they come across free screenings. With the countless sources of free movie screenings available to us through avenues such as print media, radio, TV, internet, etc... there certainly isn't a place to find them all... or is there?
So as we start to enable features on the site, feel free to let us know how we can better serve you. Through requesting features, tweaks, etc. We promise to be prompt in our responses, both in acknowledgement and action.
Once you've seen a sneak preview, tell us what you thought of the free flick through our review forum. Even if it's only a few words! All input is valuable!
Thanks for spending a few moments with us, and we encourage you to continue using the site as an avenue to free information about screenings in your area :)
